Blackness and the Cyclical Nature of Oppression

Living in Portland,Oregon oftentimes feels like I’m in permanent episode of Get Out that just won’t end. In this movie Chris which the main character is a victim of hypnosis by  a cult of white people who covet his black bodily parts for the sake of immortality. I thought this movie was interesting because they were cheating death. In the scriptures it says that we shall die once and then we shall be raised with our heavenly bodies and this requires the faith and patience that the field of science doesn’t have. The movie Matrix on the other hand is fascinating because in this motion picture that is based on the lives of Christ and John the Baptist. Morpheus portrays John the Baptist in the sense that he prepares the way for the Neo who portrays Christ. Morpheus decreases so the Neo could increase and this was the foundation of the relationship between John and Christ. In the movie the only way to escape the system was to renew your mind and become fearless. This was exemplified in the scriptures when Christ went to his death willingly and entered the blackness of his grave and rose with his immortal heavenly body. The scriptures says that the dead do not know that they are dead so for many of us when that time comes it might feel like we were only asleep for 3 days, who knows? The only way to escape the oppressor is to renew our minds and live the lives we love fearlessly.
